Narration on "Take the Cannoli" The Begininng

The first post chapter of the novel I'm reading, "Take the Cannoli" by Sarah Vowell seems to be about a very young girl living in a house that has many arguements about politics. The family is from Oklahoma and has moved to Montana that is what seems to be very different from one another. Her father is a gunsmith which she mostly sees as being horrifying and rather weird, and I havent gotten to the details about her mother yet. She even calls her home "The United States of Firearms" because there are guns everywhere. The house is split between 2 sides: Democrats and Republicans which is often seen as hard to succumb. Vowell and her father obviously don't get along very well but only have a few agreements. They agree with the constition but favor different amendments. Her father doesnt allow her to vote but its not like it would've counted anyway. The first chapter of this book is called: "Shooting Dad" and the section itself says "Home Movies" with a picture of a table with a bowl of what seems to look like oatmeal, tost, a cup of joe, and two handguns or revolvers. This subsection puts me in the mind setting that a lot of the events taking place now in the book will be in their home. The title of the chapter itself gives me thoughts like: "does she hate her father?" "is she going to kill him?" stuff like that. This book is starting to seem like it has the "chilling" and "mystery" genre going on. I look forward to reading more about this book as I read further today, tonight, tomorrow, so on and so forth.
